The Drunk Millionaire

The Stumble Towards Financial Independence

Guest Post: Is the Millionaire Next Door Still Relevant?

May 5, 2016 by The Drunk Millionaire 3 Comments

Today’s society is faced with more pressure towards consumerism and the resulting financial troubles than perhaps any previous generation.

This is largely due to the ease of marketing through the internet and social media combined with the global competition and the resulting flood of stuff.

Because of these challenges, Thomas Stanley’s book, The Millionaire Next Door: The Surprising Secrets of America’s Wealthy remains relevant today.

“Wealth is more often the result of a lifestyle of hard work, perseverance, planning, and most of all, self-discipline.” – Thomas Stanley, The Millionaire Next Door

Check out my first guest post which explores how the book The Millionaire Next Door can be applied in today’s society over at Matt’s great site, DistilledDollar.com.

Hey Preston! I already left a comment on Matt’s blog but I see you write a lot about the book The Millionaire Next Door. I can’t wait to order and read the book as a ton of people talk about it. Really enjoyed your post as I just wrote about the same topic myself. Looking forward to the next article.
